Home Grown Update!!

Here are a few pictures of things we have managed to grow ourselves! This year has been a year of learning and i am hoping for better results next season!!

Impressive Butternut Pumkins!

well not that impressive!!

A good lot of limes

Here are 3 of the Christmas day chicks, the front 2 are the isa/sussex crosses and the one at the back is the sussex, there is another sussex. They are now teenagers they are still quite small, the 2 sussex i think are girls but the 2 mixes im not sure they are bigger and have larger combs so they could be roosters?? YUM!!

Here they are next to the big girls

I really think he is a he, he seems to stand quite tall!
The latest batch were a failure, poor Joyce was very sad, only one hatched, 2 died hatching and the rest were not viable, the one that hatched was so cute and dark but i think one of the other chooks killed it, Joyce is fairly low in the pecking order so she probably wasnt fierce enough.
Mrs Skywalker is broody again, as she did so well last time i am getting some eggs for her on Tuesday, if this lot fails thats it for a while.........!
