TRAUMA

I really try not to freak out when i come across creepy crawlies here in the bush, centipedes, earwigs, lizards, flying things of many descriptions and spiders are an everyday occurence and i am very calm and collected and manage to deal with them without freaking myself or the boys out................until yesterday!!

Bob reported a "massive" spider in the corridor, no worries i go and have a look....yes large and weirdly lumpy, havent seen one like that before so i get the big see through container and calmly place it over the spider........and then it happened, something so freaky and frightening i lost all sense of calmness and completley lost it, screamed and ran away. The spider turned into a million babies that scattered and spread out all over the place. Losing all coolness i screamed for the fly spray, the boys are now picking up on my panic and we are all watching the million babies and screaming while hysterically laughing and jumping about, it was not pretty. We managed to spray around the container and get ourselves under control.....just. I bravely slipped the card under the container ran outside and dumped it on the lawn then ran inside so try and restore my calm demeaner with a quick Scotch cup of tea!!

BUT THEN.........Sean came home, we reported our traumatic experience but managed to see the funny side and got the boys calm and ready for bed...BUT THEN ........the spider was back in the corridor, no joke, same spider, back for her million babies, I bravely told asked Sean to deal with it, he coralled it into the Laundry where it ran up the leg of his work pants (not the ones he was wearing thank goodness) Sean calmly shook the pants....and then.......she dropped a million more babies so we all did our screaming dancing jumping thing and grabbed the fly spray again!! restoring a little calm i grabbed the camera (as you do!!) took a pic of the spider with her sadly depletted mass of babies then Sean caught her again and took her to the chook pen so the girls could decide her fate.

This experience has left us all traumatised, Toby gave himself a bad case of the heaby geebies and had to change his PJ's 20 times before he was sure there were no spiders. I am walking the corridor only with the lights on and we are all shaking our clothes really well before putting them on.

Anyone want to come and stay????
